Welcome to Basketball Crazy’s monthly “In Your Face” newsletter. This newsletter is to highlight the specific information about the Basketball Crazy Website and to offer something thought provoking to those readers that are keen to develop aspects of their game as a player, coach, referee or administrator. 


Our Website Launch in November
Thank you for those many newsletter subscribers that have now made the commitment to become website members and have been busy soaking up the broad range of information about basketball on our website.  Your feedback has been very encouraging and we are excited about developing some of the ideas that have been put forward.  Please keep the feedback coming.


For those Newsletter Subscribers new to your subscription, the Basketball Crazy Website  has hundreds of web pages of general information about basketball. For the cost of a basketball book from the book store $27.50, you can have a six-months subscription to the website including a wealth of information about basketball with the added bonus that this website will continue to develop everyday.  This is just the start!! There will be no end to the development of this resource with additional information being put into ongoing development that will see the website establish whole new chapters of relevant information. It has taken a great deal of time and effort to establish the current pages to a point that will provide some interest and benefit to people to entice them to become members.

The current information is relevant to players, parents and coaches however the future information will expand to referees, bench officials, medical information, sports administration and facility management. Please be aware that there are still subjects that are not finished and are a work in progress. This monthly newsletter will provide you information of what the latest updated and new web pages are.

Interview With Rebecca Mercer (Played For Montana State University)

Basketball Crazy interviewed Perth Lynx's Rebecca Mercer recently with a view to let young Aussie basketball players know what it is like to play college basketball in USA.  Rebecca states during her interview how she managed to be recruited to college, what it was like in junior and senior college and talks about her experiences on and off the court.

The following chapter is one of the key building blocks of becoming a good player, coach or referee:

Chapter 6 - Psychology & Motivation
This chapter includes vital information to keep players, coaches and referees focused on developing their skills and fitness and also to be aware of what is possible in the sport of basketball.  The information includes;
  • player and coach career paths,
  • mental preparation for success in players and coaches including a built-in "My Goal Setting Form" to assist structure the goal setting process,

Further information on this Chapter 6 includes:
  • outside Influences on players and coaches, information on basic nutrition, 
  • motivation material including book reviews and famous quotes. 
     

Are you reading about what successful people have had to go through in life to become great players or coaches.  Basketball Crazy reviews books and provides a summary of information about various books currently on the market.  There are some great books out there that will give you information about becoming successful.  Unless you can understand how successful people have gone through their careers by overcoming adversity, played through injury prone seasons and being traded etc, it may be difficult for you to understand what it may take for you to be successful.  Players and coaches also need to put good information in their head to get good information out.  There is a great deal of positive information that come from reading books about successful people.

Chapter 3 – Player Development
This chapter covers all the skills and attributes of becoming an all-round basketball player. There is excellent information and illustrations on player passing and dribbling skills, player shooting skills and player stance & movement.
